DevOpsDays Salt Lake City

2018 Attendee Guide

With less than 10 days before our event, we thought we would give you a bit of information. We have sold out the event this year and we’re pretty excited to bring you some of the biggest and best minds. If you have any questions, please contact us at: organizers-saltlakecity-2018@devopsdays.org

Things you need to know

Venue Information

NOAH’S of South Jordan

322 W 11000 S, South Jordan, UT 84095

This year Salt Lake City DevOps Days has chosen NOAH’s of South Jordan as it’s event venue. With room for 400 people, this year’s DevOps Days is going to be bigger and better than ever. However, parking is limited please carpool, use public transport, or Lyft.

Registration

Enter Noah’s on the south side of the building. The registration table will be there where you can get your name badge and swag.

Afternoon Workshops

This year, we have workshops that teach theory or technical skills. You may visit https://www.slcdevopsdays.org/schedule to review the options. Many have limited seating so please add only one for each day on your schedule. We will give preference to those who register. The sizes are based on room constraints or topic. There will be a workshop on each day in the main hall (no restrictions). Please review the workshop info and any materials the presenter has shared. Some of the workshops require some setup and it’s best to do that prior to the conference.

On the second day the patio will be available to sit and chat with people you have met. The first day, our awesome evening social will be held there. Lastly, many of our vendors have demos and may be showing them during this time. If interested in a demo just ask!

Parking

There are about 175 parking stalls available and 450 of us. If you can carpool that would be awesome. Also there is a UTA Flex bus that runs between the South Jordan and Draper FrontRunner stops if you choose to use UTA.

Job Board

We will be providing a job board. If you have open positions, please bring printed contact information for new talent. Electrical Power There will be electrical power strips located around the building. Also sponsors will have power strips. You may charge your laptop & phone while filling out your passport to win vendor swag. There will also be powerstrips through the building.

WiFi

We will have limited WiFi available to the entire conference. However, as there will be a 450 attendees on the same floor and they tend to use a lot of bandwidth. Please refrain from streaming videos/music while attending the event. Wireless bandwidth is provided by Noah’s.

Sponsors

We have 17 wonderful sponsors this year. Without them we would not be able to put on this conference. Please take time to visit them in room 300. Throughout the day we will have snacks in the same room. We do not share your info with Sponsor unless you have them scan the QA code on your badge. We will have a passport for you to get stamped and return to the registration area to be entered for the grand prize at end of day Wednesday.

Prizes for Evening Social or Sponsor passport

Okay we get it. You have had spent a long hard day sitting in a folding chair. You have listened to speaker after speaker, attended workshops, and even though the talks were compelling and you did learn from the informative workshops, you are beat! All you want to do is head home, relax and kick back. The idea of hanging around after all this, to attend a social, may seem unnecessary. Perhaps even a little bit ridiculous. It is easy to think of reasons not to attend. But we would argue that you are not only missing a great deal of fun, you are missing out on some of the biggest opportunities, and reasons to attend a conference in the first place.

So what are the reasons you should stick around for the social or the vendor drawing?

Prizes include:

  • Nintendo Switch
  • DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Collapsible Quadcopter
  • GoPro HERO Session
  • Pandemic: Legacy
  • Apple TV
  • Mechanical Keyboard - KBC Poker 3
  • Super NES Classic
  • Kindle Oasis E-reader
  • LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox -And MORE!
